John Dee Paul killed in Accident with Cement Truck in Anna

via February 16, 2016

One person was killed when a cement truck and a car collided in Anna Tuesday afternoon.

DPS spokesperson Lonny Haschel says the crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. on CR 210 in the eastbound lane.

The cement truck went off the shoulder, over corrected and ended up back on the road, Haschel says.   The car was traveling westbound when the cement mixer crossed over the median.

The cement truck crashed into the car and the car was pinned between a tree and the cement mixer.

The driver of the car died at the scene.

The driver of the cement mixer was not injured.

The unintended result of the economic growth in Dallas-Fort Worth is that accidents between commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles are on the rise, and very often with tragic results. Commercial truck drivers and cement truck drivers are under pressure to get to the next job site or deliver the next load. The truth is that when tragedy strikes, the family of the injured or killed victims of these accidents need to know their rights against the truck driver and the trucking company or contractor.

Wrongful death actions are a type of negligence action and victims of wrongful death can receive compensation for their loss and the damages that resulted from that loss, including economic and non-economic damages.
