Two CareFlited in I-20 Wreck Near Elmo

Via ELMO, Texas — Two people were airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital on Sunday night following a rollover crash on Interstate 20 which resulted in one person being ejected from their vehicle.

The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on westbound Interstate 20 between Hiram Road and Farm-to-Market (FM) 429.

According to police, an SUV was traveling westbound when it entered the center median, veered back across the highway, and down an embankment into a line of trees and fence. The SUV overturned several times which resulted in one of the passengers being ejected from the vehicle and a second passenger being partially ejected.

Those two passengers were flown by CareFlite medical helicopter to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

According to, a third passenger was checked by emergency medical services, but was determined to be uninjured in the accident, without even a scratch on him.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
