Wrong Way Driver Kills One on West Loop 820, Faces Intoxication Manslaughter Charges

A wrong-way driver collided with a vehicle Sunday morning, killing a man on West Loop 820, police said.

The name of the 35-year-old victim had not been released pending notification of relatives.

The suspect was arrested and faces intoxication manslaughter charges, police said.

An issue that will become very important here is whether the wrong way driver coming from a bar or other local establishment where he was overserved and became intoxicated. I am sure the insurance companies involved in the accident will conduct an investigation to determine whether any such liability exists for the establishment, if there is one involved.

That suspect was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
